Show Off
This is one of a number of Lesser Goldfinches that were raiding some wild sunflowers in the Colorado mountains. They were fearless, but moved so quickly it was difficult to get a good picture.
fuzzy
The fuzzy part is because it was in the negative degrees fahrenheit. I tried to tell him he had something stuck to a whisker but he wasn’t moving.

This prairie dog was enjoying the sunshine while eating, and didn’t care that we were close by observing.
Plum Blossoms
This plum tree was completely covered in blossoms this spring, but this branch caught my eye because the cluster at the end of the branch was almost shaped like a pineapple.
Frozen Spray
These icicles are the result of cold nights during the spring thaw. Just up river from this cliff is a waterfall that was creating a cloud of mist, freezing into fantastical shapes along the ledges.
