Monarch Crest Trail runs along the mountain ridges from Monarch Pass. The picture is too nice not to post, but it tells no story beyond what a beautiful day it was.

The North Fork trail cuts through the mountains near Conifer. For one month in early summer the mountains are green and rainy; the same picture taken in July would be a study in browns.
Center of frame is the bottom half of Pikes Peak. The size of this mountain only becomes obvious when you’re a long way off; this shot is from 40 miles to the north and it’s still the largest feature of the landscape.
The Pikes Peak Cog Railway is one of the highest in North America. The ride and views are highly recommended.
This is a view of the rocks which form Red Canyon near Cañon City Colorado. The color forms a striking contrast with that of the nearby mountains.

My old KLR-650 took some gnarly roads. This one near Georgetown is closed most of the year to snow which never fully melts. Getting down involves careful balancing on the top of several cliffs.
This image was supposed to be for modeling reference, but caught my eye while looking through my photo library.
