Humidity and smoke filtered most of the shorter wavelengths of light out of this sunset. This resulted in a dramatic red sun leaving its trail across the waters of the Missouri River.
This is a view of the rocks which form Red Canyon near CaƱon City Colorado. The color forms a striking contrast with that of the nearby mountains.
Lake Superior offers many types of shoreline. This particular rock shore is on Madeline Island, and provides wonderful spray from waves breaking.

This is fall leaves along a hiking and bike path above the St Lewis River in Minnesota. This is a tone mapped HDR image that was taken hand held, which is why some of the edges are strangely colored, but it still conveys the amazing colors you get when hiking through forests in the fall.
This photo is from this summer during the evening visibility of comet NEOWISE. The comet is a long period comet that had not been previously recorded, and provided a surprisingly good show for several weeks.
This is a photo from Cape Horn on the north side of the Columbia River gorge, which affords a great view up the river to the east. There is a rail line that runs along the river below.
